Job Summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team as a Lead Nurse in the Pediatric Acute department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of nurses, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, assessing learning needs and implementing teaching strategies to promote patient education and empowerment.
  • Lead and manage a team of nurses, delegating tasks and responsibilities to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans, promoting optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Utilize data and information to evaluate and improve patient care processes, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Embody the values of Ochsner Health System, demonstrating a commitment to excellence, compassion, and patient-centered care.
Requirements
  • Current RN license in the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric acute care (required)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in clinical specialty area (e.g. pediatric critical care)
  • Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare software

The Pediatric Acute department is a fast-paced and dynamic environment, requiring strong communication and leadership skills. As a Lead Nurse, you will be responsible for managing a team of nurses, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of the department.
