About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Monitor Technician to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a Monitor Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining high-quality standards of unit operations by communicating patient information effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recognize life-threatening arrhythmias and report to the appropriate department immediately.
  • Maintain a visual check of monitors to ensure accurate patient data.
  • Log patients being monitored and provide accurate information in an informative manner, respecting patient rights.
  • Interpret basic ECG strips for rate and rhythm.
  • Troubleshoot and collaborate with Biomed/nurses for GE telemetry problems.
  • Recognize artifact and troubleshoot effectively.
  • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and communication style.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • ECG certificate program or equivalent, State Certification for ECG.
  • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
