Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Records Clerk to join our team at the City of Somerville, MA. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date police records, providing excellent customer service to the public and police personnel, and performing a variety of administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date police records in various databases
  • Provide information and assistance to the public and police personnel regarding police records and activities
  • Perform data entry and record-keeping tasks
  • Collate and file reports, records, and paperwork
  • Prepare reports and summaries of information received
  • Respond to inquiries and requests for information
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Related experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of office software
Work Environment

The work environment is typical of an office setting, with occasional exposure to outside elements. The position requires sitting for extended periods, with intermittent periods of standing and walking.
