Job Summary

As a key member of our culinary team, the Sous Chef will be responsible for overseeing the daily kitchen operations, ensuring a consistent high-quality product is produced, and maintaining the operating budget. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and develop staff, while also ensuring sanitation and food standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and implementing new menu items and recipes
  • Supervise kitchen staff, including direct reports, to ensure efficient and effective operations
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure food meets Marriott's high standards
  • Manage inventory and ordering of food and supplies
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement kitchen policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 4 years of experience in the culinary industry preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
