Electrical Assembler Job Description

HDT Global is a leader in engineering, designing, and manufacturing of leading-edge military expeditionary products and rugged industrial/commercial products since 1937.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Assembler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling electronic control panels, distribution panels, generator end enclosures, and control devices using components such as switches, relays, transformers, engine and generator controls, wire harnesses, and mounting brackets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electro-mechanical assembly, disassembly, and rework of various electronic products and mechanical assemblies.
  • Utilize schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, engineering drawings, wire lists, and other technical documents to assemble and test electrical components.
  • Operate small power tools, hand tools, and computerized equipment to assemble and test electrical components.
  • Install electrical components such as terminal blocks, governor controllers, voltage regulators, speed switches, voltage sensing controllers, watt transducers, current transformers, relay assemblies, fuse assemblies, time delay circuits, transformers, power terminal block assemblies, circuit breakers, jumpers, and wire harnesses.
  • Connect lead wires to ohmmeter or other electronic testing equipment to test connections for continuity, resistance, shorts, and grounds in accordance with the wiring diagram.
  • Complete various panels by installing lights, receptacles, gauges, various electronic instruments, legends, and instruction labels in accordance with diagrams, drawings, written, and oral instructions.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards.
  • Support other projects and perform duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred, Associate's degree or Vocational school certificate in electrical preferred but not required.
  • Minimum five years of electrical systems experience, 7+ years preferred.
  • Experience with hand and power tools required.
  • Knowledge of phase coloring: Ability to identify different gauges of wire.
  • Experience with EMI Connectors and building cables: Knowledge of low voltage wiring 24Volt AC/DC.
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, engineering drawings, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary.

This position requires access to or use of export-controlled technical data or technology controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
