Urology Surgical Fellowship Opportunity

The Garry Weber APP Urology Fellowship Program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is a 12-month training program designed to provide advanced practice providers with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the field of urology.

The fellowship program is divided into two sections: the first six months focus on learning the main subspecialty areas of urology, including BPH/LUTS, Kidney Stone Disease and Mineral Metabolism, Urologic Oncology, FPMRS, Neurourology, and Reconstructive Urology, Prosthetics, and Trauma.
The second section allows for growing autonomy with first assisting during robotic cases at Clements University Hospital, as well as seeing and managing patients at our state-of-the-art ambulatory care clinic and at Clements University Hospital.
Admission RequirementsTo be eligible for the fellowship program, applicants must have a certificate of graduation from an ARC-PA accredited PA program, certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and either be eligible for or have a Texas Medical License.
Applicants must also submit a personal statement, curriculum vitae and/or resume, and two letters of recommendation.
Job DutiesAs a fellow in the Garry Weber APP Urology Fellowship Program, you will assist physicians in diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients by performing specialty-specific medical or procedural activities.
You will also obtain complete medical historical data from patients and perform physical examinations, organize and present historical and physical data in a concise and effective manner to devise an appropriate medical diagnosis or impression, complete with a relevant plan of care and related recommendations.
You will execute such diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as assigned, provide follow-up and health management and maintenance care to patients in conjunction with the supervising physician, instruct and counsel patients as appropriate, and maintain complete and accurate records of contacts with patients whether in person or by telephone.
