Advanced Practice Provider, Urology Surgical Fellowship

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Urology team as a Fellow in our prestigious APP Fellowship Program. This 12-month program is designed to provide comprehensive training in urology, with a focus on clinical and surgical skills.

The program is divided into two sections: the first six months focus on learning the main subspecialty areas of urology, including rotations in BPH/LUTS, Kidney Stone Disease and Mineral Metabolism, Urologic Oncology, FPMRS, Neurourology, and Reconstructive Urology, Prosthetics, and Trauma. The second section allows for growing autonomy with first assisting during robotic cases at Clements University Hospital.
Financial InformationThe program offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including a stipend of $95,000 annually, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and generous holiday, vacation, and sick leave benefits.
Admission RequirementsApplication materials should include PA Program transcripts, Certificate of graduation from an ARC-PA accredited PA program, Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and either eligibility for or a Texas Medical License. For Nurse Practitioners, application materials should include NP Program transcripts, documentation of completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Education Program, licensure as NP and RN by Texas State Board of Nursing, authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing, and documentation of Acute Care certification.
Job DutiesThe APP Fellow will assist physicians in diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients, obtain complete medical historical data from patients, and perform physical examinations. The Fellow will also execute diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as assigned, provide follow-up and health management and maintenance care to patients, instruct and counsel patients as appropriate, and maintain complete and accurate records of contacts with patients.
