Volunteer Program Manager

At Caris Healthcare, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to enhance the quality of life for patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to increase visibility of our Caris Healthcare Volunteer Program within the community.
- Provide training, orientation, and oversight to Caris Healthcare Volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to provide exceptional support to our patients and families.
- Assign volunteers to meet program needs and volunteer interests and skills, maximizing their impact and engagement.
- Arrange volunteer meetings for support, on-going training, problem-solving, and community engagement, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.
- Conduct social assessments with patients and caregivers to identify areas for quality of life enhancement, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to develop patient plans of care.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of patient plans of care, ensuring a comprehensive and patient-centered approach.
- Coordinate bereavement interventions and community outreach initiatives, providing support and resources to patients and families in need.
- Bachelor's Degree in a Behavioral or Social Science area, with a concentration in a related field.
- One year of experience in a related field and volunteer activity, with a strong understanding of community engagement and volunteer management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with volunteers, patients, and families.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient computer and technology skills, with experience in volunteer management software and other relevant tools.
