Job Summary

Kforce Inc is seeking a skilled Thermal Engineer to join our team. As a Thermal Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing thermal solutions for our clients' products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design engineering solutions for mechanical and thermal hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
  • Testing and Validation: Develop and implement parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, developing fan curves, system power measurements & acoustics.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Interact with mechanical and electrical engineers to develop optimum platform design architecture, new and innovative concept ideas using the latest technologies based on marketing requirement, and review RFQ process and new components.
  • Project Leadership: Collaborate and communicate with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
  • Thermal Team Representation: Represent the thermal team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.
  • Technology Integration: Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the thermal design through HW/FW developments.
  • Proof of Concept: Drive POC (proof of concept) with HW and FW/SW development to prove the new technologies and implementation to further products.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on thermal fluids.
  • Experience: Typically, 5-10 years of experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with fan, heat pipe, and vapor chamber design, experience using various thermal interface materials, experience relating skin temperature, acoustics, and system performance.
  • Software Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong understanding and experience in electronics packaging, using Flotherm, Ansys or other thermal CFD modeling tools.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.
