Position Overview

Job Responsibilities:

KEY DUTIES

The associate will be responsible for the following essential functions, along with any additional tasks as assigned:
  • Maintains an appealing and well-stocked produce section to meet customer expectations. Engages with customers warmly, addressing inquiries, fulfilling special requests such as fruit basket orders, and resolving any concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Unpacks and organizes merchandise, cleans and prepares produce, and ensures the area is stocked with fresh items. Rotates stock to guarantee product freshness and verifies that all items are correctly priced and labeled. Responsible for maintaining the salad bar and preparing cut fruits and vegetables as necessary.
  • Assists in creating visually appealing displays. Completes necessary product documentation accurately. Manages spoiled and damaged goods, as well as new and discontinued items, in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensures cleanliness and sanitation within the department. Adheres to cleaning schedules and departmental guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment, including all equipment and display areas. Properly disposes of waste.
  • Helps minimize product loss and manage damages. Reports any discrepancies in inventory to the supervisor.
  • May assist with receiving and organizing deliveries, including the operation of power jacks or hand jacks, provided training has been completed.
  • May also assist with recycling cardboard or other related tasks if properly trained.
  • Contributes to the efficient operation of the department and store by collaborating with colleagues and supervisors. Committed to continuous improvement in job performance.
  • Responsible for the proper use of all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves and safety cutters.
  • May be called upon to support other departments as needed.
SUPERVISORY ROLE

This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty effectively, with or without reasonable accommodation. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred, but not mandatory. No prior experience is necessary.
