Position Overview

Job Responsibilities:

PRIMARY DUTIES

The associate will be responsible for the following essential functions, along with any additional tasks as assigned:
  • Maintains a well-stocked and visually appealing produce section to meet customer expectations. Engages with customers warmly, addresses inquiries, fulfills special requests like custom fruit baskets, and resolves any concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Unpacks and organizes shipments of produce, ensuring cleanliness and freshness by rotating stock. Verifies that all items are correctly priced and labeled. Manages the salad bar and prepares cut fruits and vegetables as necessary.
  • Contributes to the creation of attractive product displays. Completes required product documentation accurately. Handles spoiled or damaged goods, as well as new and discontinued items, in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensures cleanliness and sanitation within the department. Adheres to cleaning schedules and guidelines to maintain work areas, equipment, and display cases in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assists in minimizing product loss and managing damages. Reports any discrepancies in inventory to the supervisor.
  • May assist with receiving and organizing deliveries, utilizing equipment such as power jacks or hand jacks, following proper training.
  • May help with recycling cardboard and other related tasks, provided appropriate training has been received.
  • Promotes a collaborative environment by working effectively with colleagues and supervisors. Committed to continuous improvement in job performance.
  • Responsible for the proper use of all provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves and safety tools.
  • May be called upon to assist in other departments as needed.
SUPERVISORY ROLE

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, the associate must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred, but not mandatory. No prior experience is necessary.
