Job Summary

CDE Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership for continuing dental education programs for the dental community, including developing courses, securing speakers, establishing and meeting metrics to ensure overall success and positive revenue stream to maintain the unit. The Manager of CDE works closely with dentistry professionals, both internal and external, to establish a robust and varied speaker pool. The Manager ensures the program offerings meet the educational needs and interests of the dental community. It is expected that the Manager will analyze and develop new courses, that ensure clinical, scientific, and evidence-based content is included. The Manager is expected to have exceptional people, communication, and leadership skills, which play an important role in maintaining professional and strong relationships with the CDE Advisory Committee, as well as faculty, staff, students, and collaborators across the University and national organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement continuing dental education programs that meet the educational needs and interests of the dental community.
  • Secure speakers and establish a robust and varied speaker pool.
  • Establish and meet metrics to ensure overall success and positive revenue stream to maintain the unit.
  • Work closely with dentistry professionals, both internal and external, to establish a robust and varied speaker pool.
  • Analyze and develop new courses that ensure clinical, scientific, and evidence-based content is included.
  • Maintain professional and strong relationships with the CDE Advisory Committee, as well as faculty, staff, students, and collaborators across the University and national organizations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Minimum 5+ years of related experience.
  • Prior event management experience.
  • Expert knowledge of internal and external policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Expert knowledge of a health professions education program curriculum and requirements.
  • Expert knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research.
  • Excellent communicator; great critical thinking and advising skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Strong diplomacy skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with department, management, industry leaders, and external agencies.
  • Proven ability to advise and influence all levels of leadership and staff.
  • Highly developed skills and expertise in organizational and project management.
  • Leads teams and directs projects through from inception to completion on schedule.
  • Excellent personal organization skills.
  • Expert knowledge of current and emerging educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Expert ability to facilitate educational technology opportunities using technology-based solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge of data management, documentation methods used in investigating and presenting findings about the program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related area preferred.
  • Prior experience coordinating continuing education coursework to dental or health professionals.
