A progressive public sector labor union, Service Employees International Union, is seeking a skilled Union Representative/Organizer for Strategic Campaigns. If you are passionate about organizing and advocating for the rank-and-file, this could be the ideal role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, recruit, train, and develop worksite leaders and stewards to foster a culture of collective bargaining.
  • Lead, motivate, and mobilize worksite leaders, stewards, and members in organizing activities, promoting a strong sense of solidarity.
  • Develop effective communication networks in worksites to ensure seamless information exchange.
  • Coordinate strategic campaigns in support of contract negotiations, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Provide training and guidance to negotiating committees, empowering them to effectively represent member interests.
  • Represent members through the grievance and arbitration system, upholding the principles of fairness and justice.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required to engage with members and stakeholders.
