Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer

Cambridge Health Alliance is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of cardiovascular non-invasive tests according to established protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform cardiovascular 2-D imaging, color flow, spectral display, continuous and pulsed wave Doppler
  • Conduct exercise/pharmacologic stress, harmonics and contrast imaging
  • Recognize adequate vs inadequate data collection and prepare preliminary reports for physician interpretation
  • Identify abnormalities and life-threatening findings and report to physicians or nursing units as needed
  • Document notification as part of Quality Improvement activities
  • Respond to situations requiring immediate action and judgment in patient care
  • Summon appropriate help and institute necessary measures in emergency situations
  • Adhere to isolation and infection control procedures and demonstrate knowledge of fire and safety procedures
  • Use computerized databases to generate reports and enter hospital charges in a timely manner
  • Act as a liaison with physicians and their staff to expedite procedures and results
  • Perform other cross-trained modalities as necessary
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited diagnostic sonography program
  • BS preferred
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or registry eligible
  • BSL/CPR certification
  • One year experience in a hospital setting preferred
