Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining the Team Backlog
    • Work with stakeholders and other team members to build, edit, and maintain the team backlog.
  • Iteration Planning
    • Review and reprioritize the backlog as part of the prep work for Iteration Planning.
    • Coordinate dependencies with other Product Owners.
  • Supporting Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD)
    • Participate in the development of story acceptance criteria.
    • Draft criteria when feasible.
    • Provide examples in support of ATDD specification by example.
  • Accepting Stories
    • Validate that the story meets acceptance criteria.
    • Ensure the story has the appropriate, persistent acceptance tests.
    • Comply with the Definition of Done (DoD).
  • Understand Enabler Work
    • Collaborate with System and Solution Architects/Engineers to assist with decision-making and sequencing of critical technological infrastructures.
  • Participate in Team Demo and Retrospective
    • Review and accept stories during the team demo.
    • Participate in the Iteration Retrospective.
    • Participate in the Agile Release Train's (ART's) Inspect and Adapt (I&A) workshop.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of work experience.
  • Active Tier 3 Secret clearance.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Agile certification desired.
High-Level Objectives
  • Migrate current-system functionality from mainframes to a cloud-based environment (AWS GovCloud).
  • Incorporate modern name search capabilities.
  • Expand image handling to accept larger files and support additional file formats, such as PDF.
  • Transition investigative search to Elasticsearch, providing a faster response and report creation time for law enforcement.
  • Build new services to follow a microservices architecture and run within containers using the OpenShift platform.
  • Transition database functionality from IBM DB2 to the appropriate cloud data store.
  • Update NIEM schemas and IEPDs to allow agencies to use updated functionality and speed up the dot-delimited message format retirement.
