Job Overview

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary: Responsible for overseeing product costing and profitability analysis across various brands of manufactured homes, including customization options. Evaluates the financial implications of product changes and customizations. Provides cost estimates and maintains comprehensive pricing files for new business quotations. Oversees home configuration and standard costing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage cost data within the Navision ERP system, developing bills of materials for models and options, and updating them by replacing obsolete items to ensure accurate margin reporting for pricing strategies.
  • Conduct local maintenance of the Navision system, including executing system updates, collaborating with corporate for troubleshooting, and training staff.
  • Perform audits on production floor bills of materials for models and options to ensure accuracy of Navision records for actual items and quantities.
  • Maintain standard construction specifications for each brand.
  • Authorize all job orders prior to production commencement.
  • Collaborate with various departments including Sales, Engineering, Materials, and Production.
  • Monitor commodity costs to assess the necessity for material surcharges.
  • Ensure timely updates to maintenance for current margin data on models and options for pricing adjustments.
  • Keep all models, options, and Navision pricing files updated with approved pricing for quotations.
  • Assist in the quarterly physical inventory count and valuation processes.
  • Manage standard costing systems and oversee purchase price variances.
  • Support the controller with accounting tasks related to inventories (raw materials, work in progress, finished goods, and cost of goods sold, including valuations and reserves).

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational capabilities with a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and adapt methods to achieve objectives.
  • Proficient in research and problem-solving, with the ability to devise solutions and report findings.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate areas, volumes, and percentages relevant to costing.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience in accounting and costing within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Navision or other ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the manufactured housing or construction sector is beneficial.
