Overview: Responsible for overseeing product costing and profitability assessments for various brands of manufactured homes, including optional features. Evaluates the financial implications of product changes and customizations. Prepares cost estimates and manages the master model and option pricing files for new business quotations. Administers home configuration and standard costing frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintains cost data within the Navision ERP system, developing bills of materials for models and options, and updating these documents by replacing obsolete items with new purchases to ensure accurate margin reporting for pricing strategies.
  • Conducts local maintenance of the Navision system, including executing system updates, collaborating with the corporate office for troubleshooting, and providing training to staff.
  • Performs audits on the production floor to verify and adjust bills of materials for models and options, ensuring Navision reflects accurate as-built items and quantities.
  • Maintains standard construction specifications for each brand.
  • Approves all job orders prior to the commencement of production.
  • Collaborates with various departments, including Sales, Engineering, Materials, and Production.
  • Monitors commodity costs to assess the necessity for initiating or increasing material surcharges.
  • Ensures that maintenance records are current to provide up-to-date margin information for models and options that influence pricing adjustments.
  • Manages all models, options, and Navision pricing files with sanctioned prices for quotations.
  • Assists in the quarterly physical inventory count and valuation processes.
  • Oversees the standard costing system and manages variances in purchase prices.
  • Supports the controller with accounting tasks related to inventories (raw materials, work in progress, finished goods, and cost of goods sold, including valuations and reserves).
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational capabilities with a commitment to achieving excellence.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and adapt methods and standards to fulfill assigned objectives.
  • Proficient in research and problem-solving, capable of devising solutions and recommendations, and reporting findings effectively.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as areas, volumes, and percentages relevant to costing.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience in accounting and costing within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Navision or other ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the manufactured housing or construction industry is beneficial.
