Overview: Responsible for overseeing product costing and margin evaluations across various brands of manufactured homes, including options. Analyzes the financial implications of product changes and customizations. Provides cost estimates and manages master models and option pricing files for new business quotations. Oversees home configuration and standard costing systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintains cost data in the Navision ERP system, developing bills of material for models and options, and updating these bills by replacing obsolete items with new purchases to ensure accurate margin information for pricing decisions.
  • Handles local Navision system maintenance, including running system updates, collaborating with the corporate office for troubleshooting, and training staff.
  • Conducts audits on the production floor to verify and update Navision bills of material for actual items and quantities.
  • Maintains standard construction specifications for each brand.
  • Approves all job orders before production begins.
  • Collaborates with various departments such as Sales, Engineering, Materials, and Production.
  • Monitors commodity costs to determine the necessity for initiating or increasing material surcharges.
  • Ensures that maintenance is current to provide up-to-date margin information for models and options used in pricing adjustments.
  • Maintains all models, options, and Navision price files with approved pricing for quotations.
  • Assists in the quarterly physical inventory count and valuation processes.
  • Manages the standard costing system and oversees purchase price variances.
  • Supports the controller with accounting tasks related to inventories (raw, WIP, finished goods, and cost of goods sold, including valuations and reserves).
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills with a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and adapt methods to meet objectives.
  • Proficient in research and problem-solving, capable of devising solutions and reporting findings.
  • Strong numerical skills, including the ability to calculate figures such as square footage, proportions, percentages, area, and volume as they relate to costing.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience in accounting and costing within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Navision or other ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the manufactured housing or construction industry is beneficial.
