Job Title: Counter Server

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Counter Server to join our team at Ashland Hills Hotel. As a Counter Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit. You will take accurate orders, efficiently serve guests, and develop in-depth knowledge of our menu and local area to assist guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Service: Warmly greet and interact with guests, ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit.
  • Order Taking and Service: Take accurate orders and efficiently serve guests.
  • Menu Knowledge: Develop in-depth knowledge of our menu and local area to assist guests.
  • Shift Checklists and Cleanliness: Complete shift checklists and maintain cleanliness and organization of the café.
  • Transactions and Inventory: Process transactions and handle cash accurately, and stock and maintain inventory of café and mercantile items.
  • Feedback and Relationships: Provide timely feedback to management regarding customer experiences, and develop genuine relationships with guests, especially repeat customers.
  • Food Safety and Policies: Adhere to food safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Restaurant Experience: Restaurant experience is a plus, but not required (on-the-job training provided).
  • Barista Experience: Barista experience is beneficial, but not mandatory.
  • Permits: Food handler's permit and OLCC permit required (or ability to obtain them).
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Availability and Physical Ability: Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, and physical ability to stand for long periods (5-8 hours) and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Attention to Detail and Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self-Motivation and Teamwork: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to Learn: Willingness to learn and adapt to a changing work environment.
