The Lead Radiology Technologist plays a crucial role in the Radiology Department, overseeing the technical and support staff to ensure efficient patient throughput and effective utilization of equipment and human resources. This position requires a strong understanding of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, and specialized techniques.
Responsibilities- Lead and oversee the Radiologic Technologists and clinical staff to ensure the quality of their work.
- Coordinate and prioritize the department workflow to ensure completion of work assignments.
- Perform day-to-day departmental functions and responsibilities.
- Contribute to the effective management of the department.
- Consistently produce films of optimal diagnostic quality on patients of all ages.
- Administer contrast media in accordance with the contrast policies & procedures.
- Follow Patient Care and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Provide full support by performing job-related duties.
- Graduate of an America Medical Association-approved program in Radiologic Technology or meet requirements for Texas certification of Medical Radiologic Technologist of an education-equivalent basis.
- Five years of experience in an acute-care setting as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
- Licensed Medical Radiologic Technologist with the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
