Job Summary

At Heart Hospital of Austin, we are seeking a skilled Radiology Interventional Technologist to join our team. As a Radiology Interventional Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Imaging Services department.

Responsibilities
  • Perform radiological and interventional procedures in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accurate and high-quality images.
  • Coordinate and assist the care of patients assigned, collaborating with other radiology technologists, physicians, nurses, and allied health staff.
  • Evaluate patient condition to adequately perform radiological and interventional exams, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Inform and explain procedures to be performed to patients, ensuring their cooperation and understanding.
  • Provide comprehensive direct patient care, ensuring a safe and comforting environment.
  • Consult with other staff as necessary to meet the needs of patients and families.
  • Assure that necessary clinical equipment and supplies are available and safely utilized.
  • Possess knowledge of growth and development of patients across the life span (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
  • Perform Point of Care procedures in a timely manner, according to established policy and procedure, documenting required information and complying with all Point of Care quality control standards.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Radiology or related field.
  • Graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology or a military training program of equivalent standards.
  • Current Medical Radiologic Technologist certification with Texas Medical Board (TMB).
  • One of the following current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)/Registered Radiologic Technologist RT(R), (VI) license.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
