Position Overview
The Wind Energy Technician will play a crucial role in the operation and upkeep of wind energy facilities.
About the Role
As a Wind Energy Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting regular mechanical and electrical maintenance on wind turbines and related equipment.
- Climbing turbine towers daily, equipped with necessary safety gear, to inspect, maintain, or repair machinery.
- Comprehending the electrical and mechanical functions of all components within a wind turbine generator and associated systems.
- Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues; repairing or replacing parts as needed.
- Maintaining tools, facilities, and equipment, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
- Working a standard 40-hour week, with potential for scheduled and unscheduled overtime, especially during peak maintenance periods.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of one (1) year of technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) or relevant technical education.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, climb ladders independently, and work at heights exceeding 80 meters (250 feet).
- Capability to lift and maneuver up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
- Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding any equipment worn during job-related tasks.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without requiring employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
