We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Developmental Services Worker 2 at the Transitional Unit in Meriden, CT.

Job Highlights:
  • Full-time position with 35 hours per week
  • First shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
  • Sunday through Wednesday work schedule
  • Regular days off on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
Responsibilities:

As a Developmental Services Worker 2, you will be responsible for providing care and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities. Your duties will include:

  • Implementing programs and procedures to achieve departmental objectives
  • Providing guidance and instructions to individuals in developing desirable personal habits, hygiene, and social relationships
  • Ensuring the health and safety of individuals in your care
  • Implementing individual program plans and reinforcing appropriate behavior through modification techniques
  • Participating in meal preparation and serving, as well as performing housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and healthy environment
Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • One year of experience in the care and supervision of individuals with developmental disabilities, or equivalent experience in a human service field
  • Ability to work with individuals with varying levels of disability and behavior
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift and restrain individuals, as needed
