We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Publication Governance to join our team at Takeda. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving publication governance standards and quality across our business units and functions.
Key Responsibilities- Publication Governance: Develop and implement publication governance standards, SOPs, and best practices across the organization, in alignment with GPP and industry best practice.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure publication processes are efficient and effective, and spearhead process simplification and optimization while ensuring compliance.
- Strategic Thinking: Provide strategic thinking about the internal publication process/systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Operational Planning: Establish, communicate, and execute operational plans to enhance synergies and efficiencies across Global Publication Center of Excellence and Takeda-wide Publication Business Units and Regions in the delivery of high-quality publication types.
- Vendor Management: Lead vendor management activities with Global Publications and Procurement, including communication of expectations and timelines, assurance that high-quality deliverables are received on time, and oversight of contracting and financial tracking.
- Process Improvement: Participate and/or lead process improvement initiatives, including project management process and system improvement in close collaboration with technical IT stakeholders.
- Analytics and Metrics: Develop and implement analytics and metrics within Global Publications Center of Excellence, in support of the broader publication community, and apply analytics to identify areas of improvement.
- Goal Setting and Reporting: Support publication goal definitions, set KPIs, and monitor and report program progress, and execute communication and change management plans.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with publication teams across the Takeda organization to manage operational priorities, identify resource needs, and track resources.
- Initiative Management: Manage the planning, operations, and reporting of Global Pubs COE initiatives.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Facilitate and lead collaboration, cooperation, and communication within the Global Publication Center of Excellence and where necessary across other GMA functions and other Operational Excellence teams, and between regional MA representatives in the extended team to ensure that team goals are achieved.
- Leadership Skills: Embodies leadership skills with strong team spirit and assertiveness, with good interpersonal and negotiation skills, and able to lead and motivate internal stakeholders and external vendors by delivering high-quality insights/analytics.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in science or business-related field and/or equivalent Diploma.
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in scientific publications within Medical Affairs.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of GPP and other industry standards; CMPP preferred.
- Project Management: Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and project management experience in leading cross-functional projects.
- Communication Skills: Proven ability to communicate clearly and present key information objectively and collaborate effectively with management.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of regulatory and compliance guidelines governing industry scientific publications.
- Performance Measurement: Applied knowledge of performance measurement (e.g., metrics, dashboards).
- Leadership and Management: Project leadership and management skills are required to add to the ability to work on cross-functional teams and to prioritize operational needs effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to delegate in a matrix environment, predict issues, anticipate risks, and solve problems.
- Dynamic Environment: Thrives in a dynamic and multi-stakeholder environment.
