Job Title: Per Diem Studio Technician/Technical Director

FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is seeking a part-time Studio Technician/Technical Director to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience with floor directing, live production broadcast equipment, and studio operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Filling various production roles and preparing material for broadcasts
  • Operating in a fast-paced, live production control room and studio
  • Performing functions including technical director, audio operator, robotic camera, and/or floor director
  • Working professionally as part of a cohesive team within specific time constraints
  • Maintaining a friendly, respectful, and collaborative work environment
  • Interacting effectively and professionally with on-air staff, off-air staff, production and technical crews, and management
Requirements:
  • HS Diploma (or equivalent) required; vocational/technical school, associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years recent experience in the broadcast technician, master control, and news environment in a medium to major size market
  • Ability to operate live broadcast production equipment
  • Solid understanding of live production environments, specifically news production, is required
  • Experience with automated control room environments is a plus

FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus operates out of state-of-the-art studios and facilities in the heart of downtown Bethesda, MD. Our studios air the most hours of local news each week throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and surrounding areas with a viewing audience that is unmatched.
