Job Description:

As a Cloud Operations and Customer Support Engineer at General Dynamics Information Technology, you will play a critical role in delivering cutting-edge cloud solutions to our clients. Your expertise in cloud operations and customer support will enable you to tailor innovative solutions to meet the unique needs of our clients.

With a strong focus on operational efficiency and customer support, you will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our cloud infrastructure. You will work collaboratively with various engineering teams to support user consumption of applications in the cloud in a sophisticated enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage and maintain cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Respond to and resolve customer issues, providing top-tier technical support and customer service.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support user consumption of applications in the cloud.
  • Engage in application monitoring to identify and address application performance or availability issues.
  • Continuously monitor supporting application infrastructure to identify and report on scalability and performance issues.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for application support procedures.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the IT field or related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT, with a strong focus on cloud operations and customer support.
  • Proficiency with AWS cloud services and infrastructure management.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in providing customer-focused technical support.
  • Knowledge of Linux distributions (e.g., RedHat, CentOS).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and continuous integration tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
