Job Title: Associate Attorney - Estate Planning

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Attorney to join our team at the Law Office of Susan A. Katzen. As an Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for managing trust administrations, probate cases, and conservatorship cases from beginning to end.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and edit various legal documents related to probate law, including accounting petitions, petitions for instructions, and conservatorship petitions.
  • Manage trust administrations, probate cases, and conservatorship cases from beginning to end, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.
  • Address probate notes and tentative rulings by providing supplements, demonstrating your expertise in probate law.
  • Work closely with the owner and senior associate attorney to ensure the progress of cases, leveraging your strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Delegate tasks to paralegals, legal assistants, and law clerks, overseeing their work and ensuring high-quality results.
  • Lead initial consultations and client meetings, showcasing your exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with clients.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through consistent and timely communication, ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Represent clients at hearings, demonstrating your confidence and expertise in the courtroom.
  • Coordinate with the billing department to prepare and send out invoices, ensuring accurate and timely billing.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in estate planning, special needs planning, trust administration, conservatorships, and/or probate law.
  • Licensed with the California State Bar.
  • Ability to handle matters and clients independently, with a strong capacity for self-motivation and initiative.
  • Dedication to ensuring that clients receive top-notch service and results, with a focus on client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Strong computer skills, with extensive experience using MS Office Suite, timekeeping, and case management software.
  • Emotional intelligence and empathy, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work in the office, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
