Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Hardin Medical Center. As a Housekeeper, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for our patients, residents, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize patient rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, administrative offices, laboratory areas, waiting areas, and public restrooms.
  • Perform daily inventory and inspect equipment for repairs or replacements.
  • Ensure proper infection-control policies are followed and promote sanitary conditions to prevent the spread of infection and odors.
  • Handle, clean, dispose of, or move objects/materials and/or clean up blood, infectious materials, or body fluids containing blood in accordance with HMC standards.
Requirements
  • High School or GED preferred.
  • On-the-job training required.
  • Some experience working in a commercial housekeeping environment preferred.
  • Hospital housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Hospital Housekeeping certification preferred.
Working Conditions

This position demands good physical and mental health. Must be able to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull, and work a flexible schedule. Must be able to move continuously during work hours and able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds. Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Must be able to see with corrective eye wear. Must be able to hear clearly with assistance. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases. Able to handle emergency and/or crisis situations. May be required to wear protective equipment as necessary. Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment. Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests including random and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
