Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Reliability Specialist to join our team at Bryce Poynt Consulting. As an Industrial Maintenance Reliability Specialist, you will be responsible for performing maintenance tasks, including proactive tasks necessary to provide high-quality, efficient, and timely shipment of products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installing and maintaining auxiliary equipment as required by production
  • Maintaining and repairing utility and facility-related equipment as directed by the Plant Engineer
  • Assisting/training other maintenance personnel with repairs, PMs, and rebuilds
  • Collaborating closely with other departments and teams for proactive problem resolutions
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area
  • Managing small projects to maintain or upgrade equipment
  • Performing all duties in support of Sonoco's quality and safety policies
Requirements:
  • Experience in an industrial environment or military experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial, and motor controls preferred
  • Comfortable with mechanical lifts, ladders, kneeling, bending, and twisting; lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Working independently and managing multiple tasks in an off-shift position with rotating shifts that will require overtime, including weekends
What You'll Be Doing:

You will be responsible for understanding and following safety policies and procedures, performing all tasks safely, and leading by example. You will also identify safety risks and work to reduce risks in behavior, equipment, and processes.

You will create documents and perform strong Preventive/Predictive maintenance tasks/procedures to eliminate equipment breakdown failures. You will quickly and safely troubleshoot equipment issues and implement optimum corrective action, communicating the plan of action to prevent repeat issues and assisting in documenting new procedures.

You will participate in proactive maintenance activities, such as FMEAs, RCCA, Analytical Troubleshooting (ATS), and document work done in sufficient detail to capture strong historical data for future analysis.

You will perform all tasks with exceptional housekeeping, maintaining strong housekeeping principles in your own personal areas. You will identify and utilize proper tools for each individual job, identifying damaged tools and not risking using them.

You will be skilled in shop tools, including lathes, drills, milling machines, and precision welding based on the required application. You will read and understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics, and be technically skilled to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the reliability of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, piping, electrical, and robotic equipment.

You will assist in identifying opportunities to improve equipment inspection, lubrication, and hard-to-access areas for new equipment installs and for current equipment. You will understand overall equipment operation/function and apply to maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and reliability of equipment sub-components.

You will develop, modify, read, troubleshoot, install, and repair PLC programs, install, troubleshoot, and repair AC and DC drives/motors, and fabricate and install various electrical piping, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
