We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Structural Engineer to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. As a key member of our Transportation Structural Team, you will be responsible for providing technical direction and leadership to a staff of structural engineers.

Your Impact

The ideal candidate will have broad-based experience in structural and transportation engineering, with a strong background in bridge design and rehabilitation. You will be responsible for executing tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including project management and technical direction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, analyze, design, and rehabilitate vehicular, pedestrian, and railroad bridges and transportation facilities
  • Provide technical direction to a staff of structural engineers
  • Execute tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including project management and technical direction
  • Complete project management tasks, including planning, analysis, design, and rehabilitation of bridges and transportation facilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, regulators, and project managers
  • Participate in field work, including construction, bridge, and structural integrity inspection
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline
  • 7-10 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline and prior structural or civil design experience
  • Familiarity with WVDOH standards, programs, and design manuals
  • Ability to efficiently use structural analysis software, such as MIDAS, Larsa, SAP 2000, RISA 3D, or equal
  • Highly proficient with structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues
  • Experience with planning and conducting inspections and investigations on various aspects of the construction and design of bridges, applying applicable regulations and policies
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing intricate ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • WVDOH Engineer license required (multi-state preferred)
  • Established client relationships
