Busser - Modern Mexican Dining Experience

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Busser to join our team at Que Chido, LLC. As a Busser, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dining room, providing exceptional service to our guests, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Table Setting and Maintenance: Set and reset tables with clean dishes, silverware, and polished glassware before, during, and after service periods.
  2. Food and Beverage Service: Pour waters, serve breads, condiments, and side items as necessary, and deliver food to guest tables in an appropriate manner.
  3. Menu Knowledge and Communication: Command full menu knowledge at all times and preparation methods, and identify and briefly describe each plate to guests accurately.
  4. Teamwork and Communication: Work effectively with management, chefs, and culinary staff to fulfill and address guest needs and issues.
  5. Anticipating Guest Needs: Anticipate guests' needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
  6. Guest Farewell and Encouragement: Bid farewell to guests, using their name when known, and encourage them to return.
  7. Pre-Bussing and Bussing: Pre-buss and bus tables during service periods, and assist servers with service steps where necessary.
  8. Cleanliness and Maintenance: Maintain general cleanliness in the dining room during service periods, and stack and stock side stations with dry goods, extra china, settings, and silverware.
  9. Equipment Knowledge and Use: Use standard kitchen equipment, including refrigerators/coolers, slicers, sharp knives, beverage machines, and other equipment as necessary.
  10. Health and Safety: Follow all procedures and policies set forth by the company and health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience as a busser in a similar, high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Good communication skills; multilingual is a plus.
  • Must be able to speak and read English proficiently.
  • Professionally groomed in a manner consistent with department grooming standards.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, energetic, and a willing learner.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow directions well, make quick decisions, and keep organized while under pressure.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties with extreme care, concern, and detail.
  • Physically able to lift and carry at least 50lbs on a tray or arm service, as well as delicate china and glassware.
  • Physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period of time.
