The Fiscal Support Specialist is a key member of the InsideHigherEd team, responsible for providing financial support to various departments and programs. This role is governed by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and send invoices to vendors for monthly, quarterly, yearly, and one-time payments
  • Produce end-of-month invoice aging reports to ensure timely payments
  • Reconcile accounts in the financial management system to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Manage departmental ordering and budget monitoring to ensure efficient use of resources
  • Log mail daily to maintain accurate records
  • Provide support with phone calls and emails to students, parents, staff, faculty, and outside vendors
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills while working with various stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in bookkeeping, basic accounting, billing, or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  • Ability to record financial data, manipulate data to generate complex reports, and conduct research

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional hours as requested and/or needed. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
