Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Quality Assurance to join our team at Day & Zimmermann. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to our quality assurance programs, ensuring that they are aligned with client, company, and industry standards.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direction and oversight of QA programs, including DOE, DoD, Nuclear, Solar, and ISO-9001
  • Ensuring that quality assurance activities for the company and vendors are defined, planned, implemented, and documented in accordance with client, company, and industry standards
  • Establishing and coordinating all audit activities for all business units and project organizations, including vendor and supplier audits, and maintaining the company's Approved Supplier Lists
  • Coordinating activities to ensure that quality program budgets, schedules, and priorities are met
  • Advising senior quality management and business unit managers of quality-related deficiencies, audit findings, regulatory, and third-party inspection issues, and providing recommended resolutions

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • An analytical ability to grasp key factors from detailed specifications
  • Effective verbal communication and report writing skills
  • A working knowledge of construction industry codes and standards, including welding processes
  • Good leadership capabilities to lead quality initiatives to successful completion
  • A basic knowledge of applicable software to compile quality process data, and familiarity with the tools, concepts, and methodologies of quality management
