Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Eastern Connecticut Health Network, a leading healthcare provider. As a Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to our medical and surgical patients. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, communicate effectively with patients and families, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patient condition and care needs, including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles over the life span, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations, and provide age-appropriate care to patients served.
  • Assess and reassess pain, utilize pain management tools and techniques, educate patients and families, and document assessments, interventions, and evaluation of effectiveness.
  • Develop and revise individualized plans of care, evaluate overall plan daily, involve patients and families in goal formulation, and follow medication rights to reduce medication errors.
  • Provide patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and promotes positive patient outcomes, document nursing process and responses to care, and demonstrate flexibility, organization, and critical thinking skills.
  • Formulate and implement teaching plans for patients and families, evaluate effectiveness of learning, and demonstrate autonomous practice, professional growth, and development.
  • Provide accurate and pertinent reports of patient condition for safe transfer of care, ensure continuous monitoring for patients on remote telemetry, and provide immediate assessment and intervention as indicated.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure in the state of Connecticut.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire or within the new employee introductory orientation period.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Possesses basic computer skills.
