Job Summary:

Leidos Holding is seeking a skilled Mechanical Modeling Engineer to support the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. The ideal candidate will have experience with 3D CAD modeling software and a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Construct highly detailed 3D geometric computer-aided design (CAD) models of multiple foreign spacecraft.
  • Draft notional capabilities of satellite components.
  • Model components or entire vehicles.
  • Produce high-confidence answers to problems of interest on space systems.
  • Perform all-source intelligence research, analysis, and assessments with Intelligence Community tradecraft standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (or similar equivalent degree) with 4+ years of prior relevant experience or a Master's in Mechanical Engineering (or similar equivalent degree) with 2+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • 2+ years of experience with SolidWorks, NX, Catia, or similar 3D CAD modeling software.
  • Industry or government experience in 3D CAD/CAE.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; the ability to work individually and with teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with satellite system design, layout, or systems engineering.
  • Experience with aerospace industry standards and best practices.
  • Experience with US Intelligence Community standards and procedures.
  • Experience working at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) or NSIC with 3D CAD Intelligence Community models.
