We are seeking a dedicated Communications Instructor to teach the Fundamentals of Speech course at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified individual to join our team and contribute to the education of our students.

About the Position

This adjunct position requires teaching a face-to-face COMM 202 course every Thursday from 9:15-10:30am at the Pines Opportunity Center in Morgan County. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and adapting the standard syllabus, content, and activities in conjunction with current COMM instructors under the direction of the Liberal Arts Program Coordinator.

Responsibilities
  • Teach a face-to-face COMM 202 course every Thursday from 9:15-10:30am at the designated location
  • Develop and adapt the standard syllabus, content, and activities as required
  • Grade assignments in a timely manner and submit midterm and final grades on or before the deadlines set by the Registrar
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Candidate must have completed a Master's Degree in Communications or 18 master's level credits in Communications coursework
  • Applicant must have at least 2 years of experience teaching at the high school or college level and be comfortable utilizing course-related and LMS technology
Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who have experience teaching communication studies or related coursework at the high school or college level and utilizing an online learning management system (preferably Blackboard or Blackboard Ultra).

Compensation

The salary for this position is dependent on degree level, with Adjunct pay ranging from $______ to $______. A competitive salary will be offered based on qualifications and experience.
