We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the role of Director of Public Engagement at the Richard H. Driehaus Museum. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about art, architecture, and design, and has a proven track record in developing and implementing successful public engagement strategies.
Job DescriptionThe Director of Public Engagement will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of programs that support the Museum's mission and annual plan. This includes supervising Guest Services Coordinators, assisting with staff training, and supporting daily operations.
- Lead the planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating of programs for members and public audiences.
- Guide the strategic vision for programming, interpretation approaches, and learning methods that align with the Museum's mission and priorities.
- Evaluate interdepartmental alignment with curatorial/exhibitions, marketing, and operations to achieve program goals and audience outcomes.
- Manage full and part-time staff within the department, including those responsible for designing, developing, and running programs, experiences, and educational resources.
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- 5-7 years of experience in planning and delivering programs to diverse audiences.
- 3-5 years of experience leading and managing a team or with leadership responsibilities.
- 3-5 years of experience forging programming collaborations across organizations and communities.
- An advanced degree in Art History, Museum Education, Museum Studies, or a related field (preferred).
We offer a competitive salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
