Audubon Companies is seeking a highly skilled Survey Technician Lead - Party Chief to lead our surveying team in various states. This role will be responsible for overseeing the work of a party engaged in surveying, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Project Coordination: Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Project Manager to ensure a smooth execution of survey activities.
- Data Management: Work with the company's Registered Land Surveyor or Subcontractor Registered Land Surveyor to provide necessary data and information on projects.
- Client Communication: Maintain close contact with project managers to ensure a full understanding of the scope of services.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning of surveying equipment, including GPS, conventional total station, data collectors, and other equipment.
- Team Leadership: Demonstrate the ability to lead a survey crew, train new technicians, and mentor junior staff members.
- Administrative Tasks: Submit time sheets and expense reports to the Business Manager, obtain job numbers, and troubleshoot technical difficulties.
- Education: High School diploma or general education degree (GED), with land surveying and land law coursework desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in surveying, with 5+ years preferred.
- Skills: Working knowledge of survey equipment, ability to operate GPS, conventional total station, data collectors, and other surveying equipment.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with ESRI ArcMap 9.x, AutoCAD, Pathfinder, and Carlson desirable.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
