Position Summary:
The Nursing Assistant (NA) provides essential care to residents in a long-term care setting. This role involves delivering resident-centered nursing care and assistance with daily living activities under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The NA is responsible for understanding and implementing care plans tailored to the physical and psychological needs of residents.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
  • Monitoring and recording vital signs
  • Providing emotional support and companionship
  • Facilitating safe transfers and mobility for residents
  • Supporting residents during meal times and ensuring a positive dining experience
  • Documenting care provided and communicating changes in resident conditions to nursing staff
  • Maintaining cleanliness in resident living areas
  • Encouraging participation in wellness and recreational activities

Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED (preferred but not mandatory). A minimum age of 16 is required. Previous experience in long-term care is advantageous. Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is required, with training provided by the facility.

Ongoing education and competency testing are essential to maintain qualifications. Depending on the facility's needs, this role may require a valid driver's license and compliance with driving policies.
