The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as an Infection Prevention and Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality care to our residents.
Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized care to residents, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with the resident, family, or advocate, and other interdisciplinary colleagues to ensure ongoing care and provide the best quality of life possible.
- Complete resident assessments, including quarterly and annual assessments, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
- Provide education and support to residents, families, and staff on infection prevention and MDS best practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to infection prevention and MDS.
- Graduate from a National League of Nursing (NLN) or American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) accredited nursing program.
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
- Minimum of one year of experience working as a licensed nurse with the senior population, preferably in a long-term care setting.
- Resident Assessment Coordinator-Certified (RAC-CT) or management/supervisory experience is preferred.
