Detainee Transportation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Officer to join our team at The GEO Group, Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and secure transportation of detainees between destinations.

• Conduct thorough pre-trip, during-trip, and post-trip inspections of all vehicles operated to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are in order before initiating a trip and notify the Transportation Manager of any issues.
• Verify that vehicles are equipped with necessary safety equipment and notify the Transportation Manager of any deficiencies.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and reports in an accurate and thorough manner, adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Ensure detainees are properly secured during transportation and that all necessary paperwork is obtained and completed accurately.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including federal, state, and municipal laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Respond promptly and effectively in the event of an accident, providing detailed information to authorities as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• Valid State of California BSIS weapons permit and guard card.
• Valid California Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement within 90 days.
• State Firearms License (9mm) required.
• Ability to set standards and procedures to establish satisfactory levels of performance, quality, and productivity.
• Effective personnel interaction, communication skills, and problem-solving techniques.
• Sound and effective leadership skills.
• Ability to train staff effectively.
• Ability to write reports, memoranda, policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Ability to work with computers and necessary software.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
