Data Modeling and Simulation Lead

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Modeling and Simulation Lead to join our team at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the evaluation of precision strike and air combat system effectiveness using mission-level analysis tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead small teams in the evaluation of precision strike and/or air combat system effectiveness using an assortment of mission-level analysis tools with the goal of discovering useful data, informing conclusions, and supporting decision-making.
- Provide technical thought leadership and task management to ensure high quality, insightful, and timely analysis.
- Have opportunities to engage in independent research projects that encourage creative solutions and reward initiative.
Requirements:
- Have a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Math, Computer Science, or Engineering, or a related area.
- Have demonstrated excellence in performing and leading mission-level modeling, simulation & analysis.
- Have experience in one or more of the following areas: air vehicle survivability analysis, electronic warfare analysis, simulation development, planning concept of operations, and end-to-end kill-chain analysis.
- Can work effectively in a highly collaborative environment and communicate sophisticated ideas directly with government civilians, military officers, and other contractors.
- Are skilled in conducting quantitative analysis, rapidly learning new and exciting concepts.
- Are able to obtain Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Top Secret level clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have a Master's or PhD degree in Physics, Math, Computer Science, or Engineering, or a related area.
- Have used analysis tools like AFSIM, Brawler, Suppressor, JIMM, or EADSIM for conducting mission-level survivability and effectiveness analysis for combat aircraft and strike weapon systems.
- Have an active Top-Secret security clearance.
