Job Summary

UCHealth is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonography Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our Echocardiography department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct echocardiography procedures on patients, selecting and using transducers according to anatomy and differentiating normal and abnormal structures.
  • Review patient history and physician's orders, educating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice, monitoring patient condition and reporting changes in status.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment, troubleshooting and resolving equipment malfunctions.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, utilizing critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Registered Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer (RCS) certification.
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in echocardiography or a related field.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
