Position Summary:
The primary function of the Asset Protection Lead is to mentor, train, and oversee personnel in the identification and prevention of theft. This role emphasizes the importance of delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining a secure environment to maximize sales and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and manage Asset Protection staff to effectively detect and mitigate theft.
  • Design and implement strategies to deter theft among customers and employees.
  • Facilitate initial and ongoing training on surveillance and security systems.
  • Address incidents involving customers and associates to provide necessary assistance and reduce liability.
  • Recover stolen items and apprehend individuals committing theft or fraud.
  • Conduct investigations into criminal activities affecting customers or associates on company premises.
  • Prepare detailed reports on theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, and other assigned activities.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards and company policies regarding apprehensions and evidence preservation.
  • Complete all required security training and maintain necessary certifications.
  • Conduct audits to ensure adherence to merchandise exposure standards and asset protection protocols.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local law enforcement for effective coordination on criminal cases.
  • Provide testimony in court as needed regarding cases involving the company.
  • Engage in special projects, investigations, and surveillance as directed by management.
  • Respond to alarm situations within the assigned store.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Adaptable and resourceful, capable of managing changing priorities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position involves extended periods of standing and walking throughout the store.
  • May require reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Ability to apprehend shoplifters when necessary.
  • Must be able to remain in surveillance areas for extended periods.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of items up to 30 lbs.
