Work Schedule: Full-Time

Shift: Thu-Fri: 7a-7p, Sat: 6a-6:30p

• Situated north of Orlando, our facility in Altamonte Springs is frequently recognized as the "Best Hospital" for its overall quality, reputation, and care provided by doctors and nurses, as rated by local residents.

Your Role:

Under general supervision, your primary responsibilities will include conducting neuro and body scans on patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics, adhering to age-specific guidelines. You will transmit images for diagnostic evaluation and maintain the hospital's computer system with the status of these examinations. The MRI technologist plays a vital role in providing outstanding customer service and is responsible for fostering respectful relationships while upholding the facility's principles.

Your Contributions to the Team:


• Execute all imaging procedures following established protocols. Ensure proper patient identification before conducting exams and educate patients about the procedures. Screen patients for any potential contrast allergies.


• Complete all examinations promptly, ensuring efficient workflow and minimizing idle time. Maintain communication regarding patient transport and discharge after exams.


• Conduct various imaging procedures and operate all related equipment safely and effectively, including scanners, injectors, monitors, and medical devices. Demonstrate the ability to perform scans on patients of all ages, adjusting protocols as necessary.


• Screen patients of childbearing age appropriately and operate imaging equipment in a manner that minimizes radiation exposure to patients, families, and colleagues. Adhere to infection control standards, utilizing approved personal protective equipment (PPE) and disinfectants. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked room. Perform quality assurance on MRI scanners. Responsibilities may include transporting pharmaceutical waste to designated secure storage areas, requiring completion of initial training on proper handling and transport.


• Review all images from examinations, repeating as necessary to achieve optimal results. Notify physicians of any urgent findings in accordance with established protocols.


• Enforce MRI zone entrance and fire safety protocols.


• May oversee quality control and quality assurance programs and/or accreditation functions.


• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:


• Basic intravenous (IV) skills.


• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.


• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends or holidays as needed.


• Understanding of medical terminology.


• Effective communication skills with patients, families, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.


• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking conversational English.


• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Required:


• Associate's degree or Technical degree in a relevant field.

Preferred:


• Two years of technical experience.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:


• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.


• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI.


• State licensure where applicable.
