About the Role

The American Red Cross is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our West Palm Beach Chapter. As a key member of our regional leadership team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with community stakeholders, developing and implementing fundraising strategies, and managing a team of volunteers and employees to deliver mission fulfillment in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Face of the Red Cross in the community, maximizing Red Cross presence and connectivity, and expanding community recognition of the breadth of Red Cross contributions.
  • Develop and Manage Community Relationships to ensure capacity to achieve region mission goals, including developing and managing the chapter board to effectively mobilize support and resources around the Red Cross mission.
  • Develop and Manage Community Volunteer Leaders to support mission capacity building by developing key community partnerships and recruiting volunteers.
  • Influence and Build Relationships to create an environment of teamwork and inclusion, effectively delivering against the Red Cross mission.
Requirements
  • Four-year college degree (BS/BA) in Business, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Finance, or non-profit administration or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good and timely judgment in complex situations.
  • Demonstrated ability for strong communication and influencing skills, along with public speaking and writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies and build community relationships/partnerships.
  • Proven experience in influencing others and building relationships.
  • Minimum 5 years related management/supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in an environment requiring flexibility and managing change.
  • Proficient with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A master's degree in the field of community organization, public or business administration, or non-profit management.
  • Fundraising and revenue generation experience in the South Florida market.
