Phlebotomy Team Lead

The Lead Phlebotomist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the phlebotomy department at UofL Health. This position is responsible for coordinating daily activities, performing technical work, and supervising phlebotomists and processors.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate daily activities of phlebotomists and processors to ensure efficient specimen collection and processing.
- Perform technical work, including phlebotomy, processing, and reference lab send-outs.
- Supervise and train phlebotomists and processors to ensure they meet quality and productivity standards.
- Monitor and distribute daily workload to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Actively support and promote hospital and laboratory infection control and safety policies.
- Assure compliance with medical necessity and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a role model and support the core behaviors, standards, values, and missions of UofL Health.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
- 2 years of phlebotomy experience.
- Previous specimen processing experience.
- Phlebotomy certification.
