Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist will work in a clinical environment, providing occupational therapy services to patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patients' overall level of function and develop plans to improve their ability to participate in daily activities.
- Implement appropriate use of standardized tests and objective tests and measures.
- Correlate assessment and test findings with appropriate interventions.
- Notify physicians of changes in patient status.
- Adjust visit frequencies to meet the needs of the patient.
- Provide patients with appropriate therapeutic modalities and self-care training to improve functional ability.
- Develop a plan of care that reflects achievable, measurable, and expected outcomes.
- Function as a patient advocate while promoting independence in self-care.
- Refer patients to other team members and/or community agencies as needed.
- Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy.
- Washington State Licensure or the ability to obtain licensure in Washington state.
- Current valid unrestricted driver's license at the time of hire.
- Certified in AHA - BLS CPR within 30 days of hire.
- Occupational therapy experience in an acute care hospital setting and outpatient setting.
- Experience as a certified lymphedema therapist or ability to become certified.
This position is primarily worked in a clinical environment. The position will require the ability to lift, and carry, up to 50 pounds and push or pull over 50 pounds.
The position will require bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, reaching overhead, sitting and standing frequently. Occasionally the position requires climbing, kneeling and crawling. The position requires continuous finger dexterity and fine manipulation. All basic life functions such as hearing, seeing, speaking, standing and walking are required.
