Rockwell Automation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Counsel, Privacy and Cyber Security to lead our Global Privacy Program and provide general legal counsel and support for our Cyber Security Program.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor who understands Rockwell Automation's strategic initiatives and provides legal support that supports growth, mitigates risk, and assures compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and expand Rockwell Automation's Global Privacy Program, designing and implementing strategies and action plans to increase the maturity of the program.
  • Provide proactive legal counsel to all levels of Rockwell Automation regarding privacy, data protection, and cyber and data security issues.
  • Serve as legal counsel for Rockwell Automation's Information Security and Product Security groups, understanding and supporting strategic business objectives.
  • Participate in product security, information security, and privacy compliance and risk reviews, supporting privacy and security design considerations.
  • Serve as primary escalation resource for the Contracts and Negotiation team on privacy and security issues for our customers and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Law degree from an accredited university.
  • Admission in good standing to the bar of at least one state in the United States.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of law firm or in-house experience, with corporate in-house experience a plus.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years management experience.
  • Core competency around information and cyber security and privacy laws.
  • Proven skills in drafting and negotiating commercial legal agreements, including specifically in the areas of privacy and cyber security.
  • Sound legal and business judgment, with the ability to balance risk with legal and business considerations.
