Position Summary
We are on the lookout for a talented and enthusiastic Film & TV Reviewer based in NYC. The successful candidate will possess a profound appreciation for cinema across various genres, outstanding communication abilities, and the skill to articulate nuanced perspectives succinctly. A portfolio showcasing published critiques is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Must be NYC-based and available to attend screenings and interviews several times a week.
- Demonstrated experience as a writer, film critic, reviewer, or a similar position, along with a portfolio of published works.
- A genuine passion for cinema and a broad love for films spanning multiple genres.
- Extensive knowledge of film history, genres, and current industry trends.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and adhere to tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Film Studies, Journalism, or a related discipline.
- Active engagement on social media platforms with a focus on film discussions.
- Understanding of SEO best practices for digital content.
- Established connections with PR for screening and interview opportunities are advantageous.
- Experience in writing news content related to movies and television.
